Network Information

NEW!! @Macarlo Host Master
Our Datacenter in
Dallas, TX, US, is smartly connected via Gigabit connections and Cisco core
routers. All servers are wired into an un-interruptible power supply, or UPS. In
the event of a power failure, the UPS battery backups will immediately kick in
and will power your server until the backup generators will be turned on. Power
generators are capable of powering the entire facility indefinitely.
Our network uses multiple redundant connections and BGP4, Cogent + Private
Peering to and additional 14 providers) to ensure 100% uptime of the network. We
also have in place a unique firewall to ensure server security. Our network is
100% Meshed 1 GIG Cisco with two redundant Cisco 7513 Routers and Cisco Catalyst
2948G-L3 switches.
That's why we can include real
Gb and more of multihomed bandwidth with each
our plan. All bandwidth figures are calculated based on average usage,
not the 95th percentile method (which usually results in much higher bandwidth
figures for the customer).
We don't cap your bandwidth usage; all our network connections are 100% fully
burstable.

The @MacarloHost.Net
internal network architecture is a complete Cisco
product and is a Cisco Certified Network. We utilize Cisco 7500 and
7200 routers as border routers, Cisco 6500 series switches in our
distribution layer, Cisco 6500 and 5500 switches in our aggregation
layers, and Cisco 3500 and 2900 series switches at the customer layer.
Our network is fully meshed and redundant with 6 backbone providers.
Our current network consists of ATT (OC3), UUNet (OC3), InterNap
(2x100Mbps), Qwest (1Gbps), and Cogent Communications (5x100Mbps).
Please see our network diagram below.
@MacarloHost.Net,
a New York company, is also connected to a national
backbone in Fremont, CA that is ranked among
the top in the nation. With dual OC3 (155Mbps)
connections to several major exchange points,
connectivity is being provided through rings
around the nation. Direct peering agreements
with private and public providers directly at
the exchange point level ensure optimum speed,
performance and network uptime.
Network traffic utilised by our servers are
being provisioned through a multitude of
providers, all BGP routed.
Our peering arrangements in the Fremont
facility include the following exchanges. This
network is ever-growing as more carriers are
made available so do check back here for the
latest updates:
-
MAE-West in San Jose (100Mbps FDDI,155Mbps
OC3 ATM)
-
MAE-East (100Mbps FDDI,155Mbps OC3
ATM)
-
AADS in Chicago
-
PAIX in Palo Alto (1000Mbps Gigabit
Ethernet)
-
NYIIX in New York (100Mbps Fast
Ethernet)
-
MAE-East in Vienna
-
Level3 Communications
-
Sprint
-
MCI WorldCom
-
Frontier
-
Pac Bell (155Mbps OC3 ATM)
-
AADS (Ameritech) (155Mbps OC3 ATM)

The entire network is fully switched and
utilizes the Border Gateway Protocol Version 4
(BGP4) over Cisco 12000 series GSR routers.
This ensures that bandwidth can be routed
through the best available carrier giving you
seamless connectivity at the same time. We
always update the router's IOS after we have
stress tested the latest IOS on a non-critical
router, to make sure it is very stable. The
switch that your equipment will ultimately be
connected to is connected back to a core
router via fiber.
The self-healing network architecture
virtually eliminates a single point of
failure. In addition to the backbone, in place
is a backup transit from multiple providers in
multiple locations to ensure that data will
arrive via the shortest possible route.
Because of the backup transit and the many
international peers, the network maintains the
shortest routes for sending data all over the
world. On an ongoing basis, negotiations take
place with the top fiber carriers for new
routes, additional backup transit providers,
and updated peering relationships are always
being added.
We will install all the software necessary for
you to run a powerful web and application server. RedHat 9.0
Linux distribution is chosen as most popular, reliable and easy
to upgrade solution. All servers have ext3 journaling file system
installed, which allows the server to automatically recover
after a crash. Your server will come with pre-configured versions
of the Apache web server with PHP support, SSH,DNS,POP3,SMTP,WebMail
and the MySQL SQL database server and many other open source
software, which are included in RedHat 9.0 linux distribution.
